Free Marcus Mariota posters available at First Hawaiian Bank

First Hawaiian Bank is giving away free Marcus Mariota “Be Your Own Role Model” posters. The posters are available at all First Hawaiian Bank branch locations. Limit is one per customer while supplies last.

The First Hawaiian Bank website has information about Marcus Mariota and photos from the recent “It All Starts with Yes” TV commercial shoot. In the new Marcus Mariota TV commercial, which began airing Monday, Mariota’s father recounts the story of how his son made a commitment in the fourth grade to pursue his dream of becoming an NFL quarterback.

Story time scheduled Wednesday

Kona Stories bookstore, with assistance from the American Association of University Women, will host a story time for children ages 3 to 7 at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. The theme this month is “chickens.” Story time includes crafts and snacks for a $5 participation fee.

Keiki story times are held in the Keauhou Shopping Center courtyard. Space is limited to 25 children. For more information, or to register, call 324-0350. Check-in 10 minutes prior to story time at Kona Stories.

Queens’ MarketPlace plans fashion show

Queens’ MarketPlace will host the “Summer Is Upon Us” fashion show from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m Saturday at the Coronation Pavilion.

Presenting fashions for teens, men, women and children, the show is designed to help the whole family get ready for the beach, surf and sun.

The shopping center’s featured retailers include Volcom, Local Motion, Mahina, Quiksilver/Roxy and Kona Surf N’ Sandals. Wearing these designs will be models representing Larson Talents Hawaii, with makeup and hairstyles by Salon 808. Emcees will be Sandy and Kapena from the Wave, with DJ Tiger playing the hits.

Kailua-Kona Seniors to attend free movie

Kailua-Kona Seniors will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at West Hawaii Civic Center Building A to watch the movie “Mama Mia.” The group will not meet at Hale Halawai.
